The Official Website of the
Omaha Czech Cultural Club invites you to join us as we kickoff Nebraska Statehood 150
What is Nebraska Statehood 150? Nebraska’s Sesquicentennial, the 150th Anniversary of our Statehood (1867-2017) will provide opportunities for celebration and reflection as communities and organizations come together statewide to commemorate our shared history and build a foundation of cultural appreciation for generations to come. These presentations present a unique opportunity to reach Nebraskans across the state and to create a sense of shared history, vision and goals. Nebraska’s one of a kind and diverse history will be celebrated throughout the state to promote pride in the shared heritage of native and non-native Nebraskans alike.
Omaha Czech Cultural Club and Dr.Bruce Garver, Professor Emeritus of History at University of Nebraska – Omaha will kick off our participation in the Nebraska’s 150 Celebration at Corrigan Senior Center on February 12, 2017 at 1:30 pm. Dr. Garver’s talk will focus on the immigration of Czechs to Nebraska and the contribution they have made to the State of Nebraska during the past 150 years.
